Antonio Valencia Lopez died Feb. 2 in Merced Community Hospital in Merced.
He was born on Jan. 24, 1922, in Michoacan, Mexico. In Mexico, Antonio earned his living as a rancher and a baker. Antonio married Eloisa Alcazar and together they had 11 children. Antonio, Eloisa and their children immigrated to the USA in 1973, and lived in Livingston for 26 years. Antonio spent his remaining 13 years as a resident of Atwater. Antonio worked doing farm labor in and around Merced County. He became a U.S. citizen in 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Eloisa; children, Olivia Ayala of Atwater, David of Livingston, Sigifredo of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, Modesto of Medford, Ore., Carmen Navarrete of Atwater, Teodoro of Turlock, Jose of Livingston, Uriel of Winton, Gabriel of Atwater and Antonio of Turlock; 40 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Eloisa.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Turlock Funeral Home, with entombment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park Mausoleum.
