Mr. August Martin was born in Ribeirinha, Terceira, Azores. He was 64 years of age and passed away at Mercy Hospital, Merced, California, April 28, 2013.
He work for Franzia Wine Group Company of Manteca.Mr. Martin is survived by; His mother Mrs. Maria da Encarnação Martins of Hilmar.Three brothers; Mathew Martin of Hilmar, Tony Martin of Hilmar and his fiancée Debbie Tubera of Ceres, Johnny Martin and Joan Souza of Gustine. Also four sisters; Carmel Caetano and her husband Paul Caetano of Delhi, Hope Carmo and  her husband Arthur Carmo of Hilmar, Mary Lou Nascimento and her husband Bob Nascimento of Turlock, Mary Pierce and her husband Mark Pierce of Hilmar. Numerous Nieces and Nephews and one Great-Niece and one Great-Nephew. August Martin is preceded in death by his father; Mr. Mateus da Rocha Martins August 21, 1997.  He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar, Sport Club  Açoreano  of Hilmar,Member of Casa dos Açôres, Blue Angels Socer Club, 50’s Red Devels, and P.F.S. A., Portuguese Fraternal Socitety of America, Council No. 26 of Stevinson, Hilmar, Turlock.
Services are scheduled as follow : Viewing; 3:00 to 5:00 PM, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock, California, CA. Vigil and Rosary; 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 2 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263, American Av., Hilmar, CA.
Funeral Mass; 10:00 AM, Friday, May 3 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Av., Hilmar, CA. Internment at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
