Betty Fannin, 78, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Monday. She grew up and went to school in Hughson. She graduated from Hughson High School. She married the love of her life, Everett Fannin, and they were married for 59 years before his death in 2009. Betty had a strong faith in God and a great love for her family and her church. She also loved life and was even known for playing practical jokes on friends. Betty and Everett had a tradition of taking their grandchildren camping every summer. As a homemaker, Betty had also built a reputation as a cake decorator.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Diane and son-in-law, Harold Emery, of Turlock; grandchildren, Renee, Shawnna and Everett; seven great grandchildren; and brother, Donald Emfinger of Modesto.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett, in 2009; and son, Larry Fannin, in 2006.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Allen Mortuary. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 at Allen Mortuary. Burial will follow at Ceres Memorial Park.
