Betty Jean McBride passed away peacefully at the age of 82 at the English Oaks Convalescent Hospital in Modesto on Jan. 16, 2010.
She was born in 1928 in San Jose, Calif. and was raised in Watsonville, Calif. She moved to San Luis Obispo in 1955, and then retired to Turlock in1984.
She lived in Denair from 1990 until she settled to the Samaritan Village in Hughson in 2001. She belonged to the Good Sam Club of Modesto, and enjoyed water color painting.
Betty is survived by her two daughters, Nancy (Kenneth) Smith of Bowling Green, Ky. and Christine (Gary) Taylor of Denair; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and sister, Beverly Clark of Groveland, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23 at Samaritan Village in Hughson.
