Visitation for Carl J. Frunz, 90, of Patterson, will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., on Aug. 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Interment will follow at Patterson District Cemetery in Patterson. He passed away Tuesday at San Luis Convalescent Home in Newman.
Mr. Frunz was born in Modesto and resided in Patterson for 89 years. He was a self-employed dairyman and farmer and previously worked for Arden Farms Creamery and Patterson Frozen Foods. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a graduate of Patterson High School Class of 1938. Carl had a passion for baseball. He coached softball and Little League, was an umpire and enjoyed playing baseball.
After retirement, he collected antique tools. Carl loved his family and sports.  He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Notre Dame, St. Mary’s and Central Catholic football.
Mr. Frunz is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lorraine Frunz of Patterson; his loving daughters, Beverley Acevedo, Patricia Rose, Carole Menard-Nunnemaker, all of Patterson, and Susan Glines of Modesto; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Pauline Frunz and Mary Curran; and brothers, Frank and John Frunz.
