Carol Keennon, lifelong educator, went home to the Lord on November 20, 2015, passing away peacefully in her own home.

She was born December 19, 1937 in Sioux City, Iowa to Joe and Dorothy Brutsche. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in education from California State College, Stanislaus and spent over 32 rewarding years as an elementary school teacher at Mountain View and Chatom schools in the rural Turlock area. Carol loved her students and thoroughly enjoyed teaching.

After retirement, she volunteered her time at church, McHenry Mansion and Emanuel Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and traveling the world with friends and family.

Carol is survived by son Mike Keennon, daughter Michelle Machado, sister Trudy Brutsche, granddaughter Kristine Hansen and great-granddaughter Marlow Hansen. 

A memorial service for Carol will be held Saturday, December 5 at 11 a.m. at Wellspring Anglican Church 1548 Cummins Drive Modesto, CA.

Donations may be made in her memory to Covenant Care Hospice, Wellspring Anglican Church or American Cancer Society.
