Chano Tovar peacefully passed away January 7, 2015 at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife Diana Tovar, daughter Erica Tovar, son Lucas (Anna) Tovar, grandchildren Noah and Ayden, brothers Adam, Joe and Jeff Tovar, sister Michelle Johnson and mother Rachel Tovar. He is preceded in death by his father Adam Tovar and sister Sandra Medeiros. 

Chano was born and raised in Turlock where he developed a love for the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers,   classic cars, particularly his 1965 Pontiac, and animals.  He also played the drums and was known to start a conversation with anyone who was willing to talk. Chano worked at TID for 28 years before retiring in 2009. Upon his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family and spreading God’s message.

A memorial service will be held Friday January 16, 2015 at New Life Christian Center at 10 a.m. The church is located at 2918 W. Tuolumne Rd. Friends and family are encouraged to attend the service and celebrate Chano’s life.
