Charles Carlson, 65, of Modesto, CA, died on Wednesday, January 6th, surrounded by his loved ones, after battling cancer. Born in Turlock to Orville and Edna Carlson, he graduated from Downey High School in 1968 and attended Modesto Junior College and San Diego State. Chuck worked as a business agent at the American Federation of State County Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Local 10, and dedicated himself to improving the lives of those in his community. An armchair historian and avid reader, Chuck was very witty, enjoyed long arguments, and joking with friends and family. He was a lover of cats, the Beatles, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Oakland A’s. He will be greatly missed. 

Chuck is survived by his daughters Traci Carlson of Washington D.C., Ashley Carlson of San Francisco, his step-daughter Erin (Jeff) Roberts of Roseville, CA, his brother Craig (Liz) Carlson of Chicago Illinois, four nieces and nephews, a loving extended family and his best friend. 

A memorial service will be held at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, CA this Sunday, January 10 at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Chuck’s name to the Wounded Warriors Project. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com
