Chuck, age 88, WWII U.S. Navy veteran, passed away at Turlock Rehabilitation after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hilde, and his two children, Pat Staley (Doug), and Charles H. Corgiat (Vicki). He also leaves four grandchildren, Jennifer Corgiat, Toby Staley, Julie Freely, and Shelly Staley, and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Charles and Imelda, sister, Barbara Thrasher, and brother, George. A wonderful family man, he loved to go camping and traveling, especially cruises, and going to all of this ship, U.S.S. Ammen, reunions every two years. He was an electrician for Castle AFB and Tri Valley Growers. Chuck was an original volunteer of the Turlock Rural Fire Dept. and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Turlock Historical Society: P.O. Box 18, Turlock, CA 95381, or Shriner’s Hospital for Children: 2425 Stockton rd., Sacramento, CA 95817-2215 Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., in Turlock. Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12, also at Turlock Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.  wwwTurlockMemorialPark.com
