Charles Finny Woodard, 87, passed away at his residence in Denair. He was born in Kansas to Elda and Frances Woodard.  He was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 18 and was stationed in Hawaii. After his service he settled in San Diego where he met and married his wife of 63 years, Florence Berger. He was a rancher for over 50 years. Charles was a collector of vintage automobiles and had cars in prominent statewide car shows. He loved horses, and was a fabulous fisherman. Charles was known for his carpentry and enjoyed renovating old homes. He belonged to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock.
Charles is survived by his wife, Florence; children, Regina Emig, Carla Emig and Zane Woodard; sister, Irene Wright; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 25 at Allen Mortuary, with recitation of the rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
