Cheryl Davis Collins, 62, passed away Feb.  1 with her family by her side at her residence in Modesto.
She was born December 1948 in Schuylkill Haven, Penn. to Jack and Helen Davis. After she graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School in 1966, she completed her certification training at an X-Ray technician school in Philadelphia. She married Rich Collins on May 2, 1970. They settled in Modesto 22 years ago and she worked for Modesto City Schools as a truancy officer for 11 years. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and was a volunteer for the St. Joseph’s Military Ministries, who offer support,
prayers and spiritual comfort to our servicemen and women who are deployed overseas, sending them cards, letters and care packages, especially during Christmas and Easter.
Her interests included attending jewelry and craft shows, riding on the back of her husband’s Harley Davidson, showing their 1932 Ford at car shows, and traveling in the family motor home.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Rich Collins; and her son, Richie Collins, both of Modesto. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Phillip Davis; and her daughter, Joella Davis Collins.
Recitation of the rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb.  14 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock.
Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1813 Oakdale Rd., in Modesto.
Private burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery in Modesto.
