Clarence M. Snelling, 72, of Turlock, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Clarence was born in Modesto in 1937 to James and Charlotte Snelling. He lived in this area most of his life, and graduated from Turlock High School in 1956.
In 1959, Clarence took Sandy Crow to be his loving wife. This past year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Shortly after marrying, they began their family, adding two beautiful daughters.
Clarence worked for Thorsen’s Plumbing for 33 years; he was a dedicated employee and a dedicated family man. Clarence enjoyed bowling and wood working. He was a sports fan, devoted to the SF 49rs and the Giants. Clarence lived by his faith and was an active member of the Church of Christ in Turlock. He loved the time he spent with his family and friends, and enjoyed camping trips with his family. He was a member of the Kamping Kousins RV Club.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy Snelling of Turlock; daughters, Robin (Scott) Hill of Ceres and Hawley Martinez of Turlock; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Snelling (2008); sister, Myna Snelling (1937); and both of his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18 at the Church of Christ, 801 North Tully Rd., Turlock.
