Conrad Gilberto Miranda Sr., 90, died peacefully on Tuesday at his home in Turlock.
Conrad was born in Arizona. He married the love of his life, Beatrice, on April 21, 1942. They moved to Turlock in 1946. He worked at Rudnick Packing Co. as well as Joe’s Bar. Conrad was an amateur boxer and softball pitcher and was known as the “Westside Mayor of Turlock.” He was a lifetime member of the Eagles Club and organizations such as TAPA and TIO. He was a member of the Community Action Committee and he also ran for the Turlock School Board. He supported the Caesar Chavez movement and the crusade called MEChA, as well as the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Miranda was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; and his son, Gabriel.
He is survived by his children, Conrad Miranda, Jr. of West Sacramento, Randy Miranda of Turlock, Paula Choat of Tennessee, Michael Miranda of Ballico, Andrea Miranda Pena of Turlock, Theresa Chavez of Turlock and Dennis Miranda of Turlock; two God-children, Cheryl Root of Modesto and Maggie Gutierrez of Turlock; 27 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 10  at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11.at Turlock Funeral Home, follow by interment at Turlock Memorial Park.
