Dale Edward Gumm, Sr., 50 of Hilmar passed away Sunday at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
Mr. Gumm was a native of Castro Valley, CA and a resident of Hilmar of 17 years. He worked for MID as a Water Treatment Operator for 21 years and was a member of Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine, Holy Rosary Church in Hilmar and Lady of Assumtion Church in Turlock. He liked to ride his motorcycle, enjoyed venturing into the city of San Francisco, camping, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family. Dale Gumm was a God loving, diligent man and was always willing to lend a helping hand without judgment. His days and thoughts were filled with concern for his family and others. Dale had an affinity for the odd and unique things in life, and touched the life of anyone he came into contact with. He was a paragon of a father, grandfather, brother, husband, son, and friend. Dale was taken from us while doing what he loved.
Mr. Gumm is survived by his wife, Nancy Gumm of Hilmar; sons, Dale Gumm, Jr. (Michelle) of Modesto, Daryl Gumm (Amy) of Patterson, Anthony Cordeiro (Michelle) of Merced, Kevin Cordeiro (Janet) of Gustine; daughters, Diane Garrett (Devin) of Modesto, Michelle Bell (Richard) of Gustine; mother, Margery Gumm of Turlock; brothers, Donald Gumm of Merced, Dennis Gumm of Delhi and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Gumm and niece, Alyssa Nunes.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 13th followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles in Gustine. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 14th at Shrine of Our Lady of Miracles. Private Burial.
