Daljit Somal, 86, of Turlock, passed away at Turlock Nursing and Rehab on Thursday. He was born in Punjab, India to Santa and Jadhu Somal in 1923. Daljit worked for P.S.E.B. in Patiala, Punjab, India for 40 years. He enjoyed playing hockey. God and family were his life.
Daljit is survived by his wife, Manjit K. Somal, of Turlock; children, Kulwant S. Somal and Surinder Kaur, both of Turlock, and Inderjit Kaur of Chicago; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sons, Jugher S. Somal and Gurinder S. Somal. Daljit will be missed by all who know him.
Visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28 at Allen Mortuary, with cremation following.
