Dan Larson, a lifelong resident of Turlock, was born on November 21, 1936, at Emanuel Hospital, and passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at Cogir Memory Care in Turlock. As a young man, Dan was an active member of Beulah Covenant and First United Methodist Church. He dedicated his career to education, teaching at Turlock High School until his retirement in 2000. He lived a full life. He loved photography, football, the stock market, and traveling the world with his wife, Nancy. Dan served in the U.S. Navy. He attended Cal Berkeley where he met his future wife, Nancy. They were lifelong Cal Berkeley football fans with season tickets. The two were married in 1960. Dan completed a B.A. in Social Science in 1961 and an M.A. in Social Science in 1962 at CSU Long Beach. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Brian Larson; daughter-in-law, Alma Larson; grandchildren, Benjamin, Amanda, and Keith Larson; and great-grandson Bjorn Larson. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. Larson; his mother, Ellouise Jackson Larson; and his father, Elmer Larson. A funeral service to celebrate Dan’s life will be held on April 4, 2026, at Turlock Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park
