Visitation for David Alan Schnieder, 51, of Turlock, will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 14 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel in Turlock. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. July 15, also at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park. He passed away peacefully at home in Turlock with his sister, Carolyn, at his side.
David was know as “Big Dave” to his friends. He graduated from Chatom Elementary School in 1971, Turlock High School in 1975, and he got a degree in Mechanical Engineering at C.S.U. Sacramento. He was employed by Westinghouse and B and AH in his younger years. He grew up out in the country living the farm life. He enjoyed lunches at Perko’s, using “the claw” to win prizes for others. He spent his time attending gun shows with his friends, keeping in touch with the class of 1975, sending daily jokes to his e-mail friends and expressing his opinions frequently to various newspapers. He also enjoyed airplanes, computers and animals. He was a pet lover.  
He is survived by sister, Carolyn Plisko and her husband, George, of Turlock.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Schnieder in July 2008 and Lola Smith in March 2003.
