Born in Turlock at Emanuel Hospital to Carl and Ebba Muller, Dave attended Denair schools kindergarten through high school. Dave told the story that when in second grade, he met a cute first grade girl who had taken over the sandbox during recess. That little girl, Bonnie Troedson, became the “joy” of his life.

Dave graduated high school and attended UC Davis earning a BS in Plant Science. He then served two years in the Army. Dave and Bonnie were married during this time. After his service, they returned to UC Davis where Dave completed his Masters in Ag Economics. Dave and Bonnie returned to the family farm in 1961 where they lived and raised their family. Dave focused on developing a Holstein herd that was second to none. He instilled values of hard work, honesty, and gratitude to his family and many others who spent time with him working on the ranch.

Dave was very community oriented. He devoted himself to the Denair School Board, Masonic Lodge, Farm Credit, Nazareth and Good Shepherd Lutheran Churches, Rotary, and the Saturday/Knife and Fork Club, among others.

Dave is survived by Bonnie, his sister Betty Jo Brown, four children Bart, Eric (Lisa), Wesley (Andrewa), Amy (Thad), ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ebba, and brother-in-law Bill Brown.
