Dea Ann Geneva Oskerson’Hinds fought like a true warrior to the last minute when she lost the fight on Friday, June 24, 2017. She battled stage IV Lung cancer for almost 3 years surprising all of those along the way that she simply wouldn’t give up. She was a true inspiration and a beam of light to all those she met; always greeting everyone with a smile and words of encouragement. 

Born on May 16, 1977 she lived 22 love filled years beside her partner in crime, Clifford Hinds, and their beautiful and fiery daughter, Ciara Oskerson’Hinds. She was a loving step-mother to Kaden, Aaron, and Christopher. Her father, sister, and mother all mourn her loss greatly but choose to remember the unforgettable times spent with her unstoppable energy and love for life. 

Dea was an extraordinary artist and professional quilter who left tiny bits of her soul in every exquisite piece. Dea was an amazing mother who would do anything for her daughter and family. She had an incredible voice for yelling and used it regularly to get her point across. Her passion for life showed in everything she did. She loved Beauty and the Beast, Disney princesses, Sour-patch kids, and, of course, she loved her large sweet tea from McDonald’s.
