Donald Anthony Martin, 78, of Modesto, passed away Tuesday at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.
Mr. Martin was a native of Milpitas and a resident of Modesto for 60 years. He was a self-employed farmer who owned Martin Ranch, and he was also a dairyman. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, stationed at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the Thoroughbred Race Horse Association and enjoyed race horses and drag cars. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Martin is survived by his wife, Mary Martin of Modesto; daughters, Victoria Derossett of Pleasanton, Patricia Perry of Modesto and Tracy Ash of Modesto; son, Stanley Perry of Modesto; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a rosary/funeral mass at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson. Interment to follow at Ceres Memorial Park in Ceres. Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Patterson.
