Dorothy L. Pruett 83, of Turlock passed away on Saturday August 19, 2017 at Pacifica Senior Living in Modesto.  She was born in Castroville, CA on October 20, 1933.  After Dorothy earned her Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies at California State University of Stanislaus she taught Math in Hilmar for 50 years.  During her retirement she taught at local continuation schools for many years.  She married her husband, Shirley James Pruett in 1954 in San Diego, CA and settled in Hilmar in 1969.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Robert Eugene Pruett and Steven Lawrence Pruett; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Shirley James Pruett, sister, Leiliene “Dee” Moore; brother Arnold Moya; and parents, Ernie and Lilly Moya.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to your local Hospice.

Visitation will be start Wednesday, August 23, 2017, 5pm with the Rosary to follow at 7pm both at Allen Mortuary.

Mass will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2017, 10am At Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar with a private burial to follow in Moss Landing.
