Dorothy Mae Sughrue
c16821 1

Dorothy Mae Sughrue is now in the arms of her Savior after a brief struggle with cancer.

Originally from Queens, NY, she and her husband Chris moved to CA in 1980.  She moved to Turlock following Chris’ death and to be closer to her children.  Here she found a church home at Crossroads and made a few close friends.

She enjoyed life’s simpler pleasures: reading, bargain hunting, and the company of those she loved.  Dorothy enjoyed a quick wit, a gentle smile and strong opinions on a wide range of subjects.

Preceding her in death other than Chris are her brother, Bill VanWart and her daughter Laura Norman.

Surviving Dorothy are her daughters Kathleen Hladky (Temecula), Cynthia Hujdic (Turlock) and son Chris Sughrue (Turlock).  She leaves behind the eight grandchildren she dearly loved:  Sarah Kirkpatrick, Justin Hujdic (wife Jessica), Devin Hujdic, Amber Sughrue, Drew Sughrue (wife Alyssa), Spencer Sughrue and Sheri Hladky.  She enjoyed getting to know her 2 1/2 year old great grandson, Joel Hujdic and will meet the two that are to soon be born when all will one day be in heaven together.

“We love and miss Mom and Grandma.”
