Elaine Rose Barnett passed away on February, 20, 2017 at the age of 81 in Turlock, CA. 

Elaine was born in Baltimore, MD to Lena and Joseph Mirabile on January, 5, 1936. At the age of 9, her father died and she moved to California with her mother and her brother, Anthony, in 1946. Her mother remarried and had two more daughters. 

In 1955, Elaine married the love of her life, Billy Barnett. They lived in San Francisco and had two sons prior to their move to Turlock in 1963 where Elaine found work at the old Foster’s Freeze on Main St. and then the Penguin Palace on Lander Ave. 

Elaine loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was small in stature but fought her illness like a mighty warrior. She beat her cancer on February, 20th when she entered Heaven. 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Billy, her two sons, Rickey (Sherry), Billy, Jr. (Gail), 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Tony Mirabile (Marian) and sister, Darlene Dozier (Lee). 

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Frances Hartgrove. 

The family would like to thank her caring Oncologist, Dr. Jincy Clement and the nursing staff at Emanuel Medical Center for their excellent care. 

A Rosary will be held at 6 P.M. on Feb., 27, followed by a Memorial Service at 10 A.M. on Feb., 28, at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA.
