Eric Lane Hoek passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2017 in Farmington, CA at the age of 58.  Eric was born on August 23, 1959 in Modesto California to Thomas and Cora Hoek.  He has been a resident of Escalon for the majority of his life.

Eric was a true outdoorsman.  He loved to camp, fish and hunt.  You would often hear him tell you, he was “the best that’s ever been.”  Eric will be remembered as a generous man that would give anyone the shirt off his back.  Above all else, Eric loved his family and his extended family.  He was truly an amazing father, grandfather, brother and friend that will be deeply missed.

Eric leaves behind his stepmother, Anna Hoek, his wife of 26 years, Carrie Vaught Hoek, his children; Paul Crocker, Michael Hoek, Joshua Mcatee, Johnny Wilson, and Nathaniel Hammond, his grandchildren; Aurora Mcatee, Aiden Crocker and Ava Crocker, Ethan Hammond and Mat Hammond.  Eric also leaves behind his brothers; Steve Hoek, Greg Hoek and Brian Hoek.  Eric is preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother in law, David Vaught and his father in law, Thomas Vaught.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Deegan Funeral Chapels. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  A GoFundMe account has been set up to accept donations for Eric’s services.
