Higdon
Eva Higdon passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, after a brief stay at the Alexander T. Cohen House. She was one of five daughters born to Della and Joseph Carrington in Tiptonville, Tenn. Eva devoted her life to her family. She was a hard-working and independent mother who always made the health and happiness of her children her first priority. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, picking peaches and canning her own fruits and vegetables. Eva loved game shows and playing cards, Dominoes, Bingo and Yahtzee!
She was the loving mother of eight children, four boys and four girls: Betty (Frank), Bobby, Ruby, Ronnie (Stephanie), David, John (Marilea), Linda (Ed), and Linett. She cherished spending time with and caring for her 10 grandchildren; and was the proud great-grandmother of seven.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; her husband, Arthur; and infant daughter, Susan.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Emanuel Hospital and the Hospice House for their compassion and diligent care. Eva was a gentle and kind woman who was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 18 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd.
