Fred Greenlee, 86, of Turlock, was born in Turlock to Harry and Margaret Greenlee. The family moved to a dairy farm in Hickman when he was 7 years old. Fred graduated from Hughson High School before going into the Army. He served in the Philippines and Korea with the 448th Base Engineer Depot and was discharged in 1946. Fred married Lucille Brennecke in 1947.
Fred retired from Filper Corp. as Service Mechanic Supervisor. He had travelled throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada and the U.S.
Fred and Lucille moved to the Bay Area in 1950 and lived in Alameda, Hayward, and Pleasanton before moving back to Turlock after retirement. Fred was a family man loving every member of the family and never happier than when they got together.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Hubert, Robert, Ray and Keith and sisters: Marjorie Clougher, Rula (Lou) Weller, Eva and Marna Greenlee. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lucille; sons: Gary (Penny) Greenlee of Redding, Dale (Karen) Greenlee of Livermore, and Dennis (Rhonda) Greenlee of Turlock; grandchildren: Tricia McNeil of Livermore, Michelle Davis of Pleasanton, Laural Morton of Redding, Matt Greenlee of El Monte, Zachary Greenlee of Turlock, and Ian Greenlee of Carson City, NV; and 12 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 5th, 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 1660 Arbor Way, Turlock, CA 95380. In lieu of flowers, please donate to United Methodist Women, c/o First U. Methodist Church. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
