Freda Helen Stalians Hoobyar

Heaven gained another angel November 14, 2019 as Freda Helen Stalians Hoobyar was ushered into her eternal home by her loving heavenly Father.  Freda was born December 1st, 1933 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Bertha Nora (Jones) and Roy Fred Stalians. When she was 2 ½ she and her 4 year brother Fred and family moved to California. They lived in Visalia and Grass Valley before settling in Turlock at the end of 1942. Sister LaJuan Brumley was born November 28th 1936 in Tulare and brother Mel was born October 31st, 1938 in Bakersfield. Brother Dan was born May 27th, 1953 in Turlock. 

Freda and Bill Hoobyar were married on September 8th, 1956 and recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. Freda taught elementary school in Delhi for 24 years and was lauded as a wonderful, caring teacher. She loved to read and play crossword puzzles as well as gather with friends for a fun meal, meeting with the same group of ladies once a month, her “Lunch Bunch,” for over 30 years. 

A special love for her was to spend time with her family over the summer and have many exciting adventures with her granddaughters. Places such as Carmel, Maui, Coronado, and the American Girl showroom in Chicago were just some of the places they visited.  She also traveled with Bill to Europe and enjoyed going on cruises. 

Freda is survived by her loving husband Bill, two daughters, Renee Hoobyar of Turlock and Ronna and Larry Crews of Fresno, as well as her two granddaughters, Hollis and Coleman Adams of San Diego and Kendall and Jake East of Fresno.  She is preceded in death by her brothers Dan and Mel and her niece Brendy Lundquist. She leaves many nieces and nephews behind.  She was a member Crossroads Church for over 40 years and loved the Lord with all her heart. 

Services with be held Monday November 18th at 10 AM in Berg Hall at Covenant Living of Turlock.
