Georgia Beatty, age 101, died peacefully on June 6, 2013 after more than a century of vibrant life filled with faith, love and family. Though small in stature, she leaves behind a giant legacy which includes five children, 21 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren, and 32 great great grandchildren with many more on the way. Her extensive family cherishes many fond memories of happy times together and will miss her dearly.
Georgia was born on February 22, 1912 in Livingston, California to Clarence Baker and Elizabeth “Bessie” Swift Baker. She grew up in the central valley, attended two years of college at San Jose State, and married Carlos “Buck” Beatty on April 8, 1933. Their first three children, Frederick, Robert, and Mary were born in Turlock, California. Last two sons Daniel and Stephen were born in Vallejo but the family moved back to Turlock and spent most of their childrearing years there.
In 1962, the family moved to a cozy home in Sacramento, California when Buck took a job with the Federal Housing Administration.  Although Buck passed away in 1968, Georgia stayed in that cozy home and remained faithful to his memory the rest of her life.
Georgia spent many years working the yardage department at JC Penney, both in Turlock and in Sacramento, finally retiring in 1975. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, camping, cooking, and family gatherings. She loved to vacation at the beach in Santa Cruz, California, and she was famous for her delicious home-baked pies.
Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Baker and Bessie Swift Baker, her husband Carlos “Buck” Beatty, and two of her sons, Stephen Miles in 1981 and Frederick Grant in 2000.
She is survived by her children: son, Robert Baker Beatty of New York, daughter Mary Smith Carmo of Modesto, California, and son Daniel James Beatty of Placerville, California, as well as the numerous aforementioned grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
