Gertrude “Trudy” Furnivall

 “Trudy” Furnivall, 105, of Turlock, was born to Franklin and Katie Voorhees in Dos Palos.  She grew up in the farming community and lived in Riverbank, Delhi, and Ballico as well as Turlock. She married Cyrus Rude in 1923 and they raised four children before Cyrus passed away in 1973 after 50 years of marriage. She married George Furnivall in 1980 and they were married twelve years before his death. The family lived in several areas but kept returning to Turlock.  She was one of nine children, Trudy went to Riverbank Schools. She was a member of the Church of Christ on Tully Road for many years.

 Trudy leaves behind her children, Lorraine Quayle of Denair, Robert Leroy Rude of Cottonwood, Luella Casey of Las Vegas, Nev; daughter-in-law Edith Rude of Turlock; nine grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 18 great  great  grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Cyrus Rude, George Furnivall and one son Lloyd Earl Rude.

 A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Church of Christ, 801 N. Tully.
