Gordon was born on February 12, 1936 to Edward and Mabel Peterson in Turlock, and passed away on October 4, 2011 after a brief illness.

He was the owner of Gordon E. Peterson Custom Farming until his retirement in 1998. Gordon was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Turlock and the SIRS.

Gordon is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret A. Peterson, his sister Marilyn Brightwell, niece Sandra Girdner, Nephew Doyle Harris, (all of Nevada), nephew Douglas Harris (Pollack Pines) and numerous cousins in California and Iowa.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. Turlock. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, also at Turlock Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
