Gurnam Dhaliwal, 89, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center on Sunday, June 20. She was born in Sujawal Pur, Rajistan, India to Bhagwan Singh and Kartar Kaur Chahal in 1921. Gurnam was raised in India and came to the United States in 1977. She lived in Turlock for the last 30 years of her life. She was a member of the Turlock Sikh Temple. Gurnam loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. God and family were her life.
Gurnam is survived by her children, Darshan K. Brar, Surinder K. Bains, Paramjit K. Rai, Gursewek S. Dhaliwal and Rajbrinder S. Dhaliwal; and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jang Bahadur Dhaliwal; and her brother, Jang Singh Chahal.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 26 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at noon on Sunday, June 27 at Allen Mortuary with a cremation following at 2 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at Turlock Sikh Temple after the cremation.
