Harbans Takhar, 90, of Modesto,  passed away at Memorial Medical Center on Saturday in Modesto. Harbans was born in Punjab, India to Harkishan Singh and Karm Kaur in 1920. In 1986, she immigrated to the United States and lived in Turlock, Livingston and Modesto. Harbans was a member of the Turlock and Livingston Sikh Temples. She enjoyed traveling and visiting her children. God and family were her life.

Harbans is survived by her children, Kamljit K. Bagri, Pall S. Takhar, Rashpal K. Uppal, Surinder S. Takhar and Ajit S. Takhar; 13 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amrik S. Takhar.

A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, Oct. 3 at Allen Mortuary, with cremation following at 2 p.m.
