A memorial service was held for Rev. Herbert A. Ratcliff, 85, of Elk Grove. Rev. Ratcliff died of complications following a brief illness.
A graduate of Denair schools, Pasadena Nazarene College and the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Rev. Ratcliff was a missionary for 34 years in various locations in the Caribbean. He and his wife, Alyce, retired in the Placerville area in 1988 and moved to Elk Grove in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Alyce; daughters, Pamela Dehn and Susan Symington; brothers, Burl Ratcliff of Idaho, Glenn Ratcliff of Redding, Calif. and Gilbert Ratcliff of Longview, Calif.; sisters, Arlene Kugler and Inez Butler, both of Turlock; five grandchildren; and one great grandson.
