Our beloved dad, papa, brother, Uncle Jack, friend and rock slipped sweetly from his earthly chains and is now free to be reunited with his sweetheart, Joyce, and many other loved ones in the presence of our Lord.  Jack had just celebrated a wonderful 85th birthday week surrounded by family.  

He was born on August 5, 1931 in Mounds, Oklahoma and passed on August 8, 2016 three days after his birthday, again surrounded by the family he loved.  He was the youngest of 9 children born to Ollie Jones and William Kennedy.  

Dad leaves a legacy of love and strength to each of his family members.  He is survived by his three children Shauna Kennedy Wilson, Mark Kennedy, and Debbie Kennedy; eight grandchildren Courtney Wilson Webb, Jeff Wilson, Andrew Lee Kennedy Wilson, Jake Kennedy (his look alike and namesake), Erica Kennedy, Becky Kennedy Kane, Lance Vargas, and Alison Kennedy Corchero, as well as thirteen great grandchildren with a new one on the way (Alison), and one great-great grandchild, and his faithful brother LeRoy Kennedy.  

Dad retired from SCE after roughly 35 years of service.  He was active in the Blythe, CA BPOE Elks serving as Past Exhaulted Ruler twice and was a member of the Blythe Volunteer Fire Department.  In honor of his wishes there will be a small service and tree planting at the little country church he loved, Casmalia Community Church on Point Sal Rd. in Casmalia at 1:30pm on Thursday, August 11, 2016.  There will be a gathering at his home following.
