James (Jim) Rickenbacker 62, beloved brother and husband passed away quietly at his home in Pacific Grove, CA on 01/09/16 after a long illness. He was born in Turlock on March16,1953. He attended Turlock schools, graduating from Turlock High School in 1971 and California State University Stanislaus in 1976. He is survived by his wife Sheila, and his two brothers John (Claire), and Jerridith. He was predeceased by his father and mother, John H., and Jean S. Rickenbacker. Jim Rickenbacker lived and worked in the Turlock area before marrying his longtime love Sheila Doyle in 2000, and moving to Pacific Grove. He and Sheila were active in the local Lions Club, and he enjoyed playing golf, socializing with friends, and cheering on the San Francisco Giants.

    Funeral services are scheduled for 5:00pm on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 326 Park St., Salinas, CA.There will be a reception in the church following the services. A private burial service will be held at the Mission Memorial Park in Seaside on January 26,2016 The family requests that memorial donations can be made in his name to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, and the Lions Club Canine Companions for Independence.
