Janet R. McCord, 75, of Fremont, OH, died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born January 20, 1938 in Fremont, the daughter of Robert N. and Hazel (Hampshire) Kiser.  On October 16,1955  she married William McCord. He preceded her in death in 1996 .Janet was a 1956 graduate of Fremont Ross High and went on to work for the Fremont City School System in the payroll office. Upon moving to California in 1977, she worked for the Turlock City School System.  Janet was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and held memberships with the Red Hat Society and the Moose. She was an avid golfer and a member of several golf leagues. When she wasn’t on the green she enjoyed the company of family and friends and knitting.
Surviving are her children: Scott (Kathy) McCord of Fremont, OH; Kim Blakemore of Jamestown, CA; grandchildren : Matt (Michelle) Blakemore, Nate (Erin) Blakemore, Kurt (Raven) Blakemore, John (Meghan Grahl) McCord, Brian (Jenny) McCord; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Lamar Kiser and Shirley Mathias and son-in-law Mitchell Blakemore.  Visitation will take place on Wednesday , May 22, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8P.M. at Keller-Ochs-Koch-Mason Funeral and Cremation Service, 416 S. Arch Street, Fremont, Ohio.  Funeral Services are pending. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
