Jean Hilton, 67, of Modesto passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson on Sept. 30. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5, also at Allen Mortuary.
She was born in Camden, Tenn. to Everett and Lila Hollingsworth in 1942. In 1958, Jean married Charles Hilton and moved to Denair. They moved to Solvang, Calif. in 1989, where Jean managed the Quality Inn until 1999. From there, they settled in Modesto. Jean was a member of Free Will Baptist Church in Turlock. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and playing bingo. Most of all, she loved baby-sitting her grandchildren.  
Jean is survived by her husband, Charles Hilton of Modesto; children, Charles Hilton, Jr. of Hughson, Ellis Hilton of Denair and Donna Biddie of Modesto; father, E. E. Hollingsworth of Tennessee; sisters, Irene Flowers and Barbara Doyl, both of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce Hilton; mother, Lila Hollingsworth; and sister, Patsy Brazzel.
