Jerrold Bud Kennedy

Jerrold passed away peacefully with his loving family beside him at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House.   Born in Brantford, N.D. to Ralph and Nina Kennedy.  At a young age, the family moved to Walla Walla, WA. 
After graduation, he served in the Navy.  Returning home he met and married Dee Gradwhal.  Together they had 2 boys.  In 1963, he relocated to Turlock, CA.  After divorcing in 1968, he met and married the love of his life, Marie, on July 11, 1970, and added 4 more children to the family.  Bud worked in the auto industry most of his life, becoming service manager for Bonander Pontiac in 1971 thru 1986.  Retiring from Smith Chevrolet in 1992. 
He was a member of the Elks.  Bud coached little league for several years and later enjoyed being able to attend his grandchildren’s ball games.  He had a strong passion for the outdoors, be it hunting or fishing.  He and Marie spent many summers traveling in their RV up to the Klamath River where he would catch salmon. 
In the winter months they would spend time in Arizona.  Together Bud and Marie enjoyed having their 40 plus family members over for gatherings. 
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Nina Kennedy, and his wife, Marie, grandson Brandon Tucker, and sister, Ellen Isenberg. 
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Debbie) Kennedy, and Brian (Kathy) Kennedy, and step-children, Vicki (Dan) Lozano, Mike (Sheri) McCoy, Gale (Ron) Sawyer, and Ron McCoy.  He is also survived by his sister, Gail (Jack) Fisher, as well as 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  
Loved by all for his giving and loving nature, never to be forgotten.   Remembrances can be made to Community Hospice in his honor at 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA 95350.  
Visitation is on Thursday, October 31, 2013, from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd. Funeral service will be Friday, November 1, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. also at Turlock Funeral Home with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park 575 N. Soderquist Rd.
