Joe Silveira, 66, of Hilmar, died Sept. 17 in Hilmar.

He was a truck driver for 42 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar; Y.M.I. #44 of Hilmar; P.S.F.A. Council 26 of Stevinson, Hilmar and Turlock; and Teamsters Local 63 of LA. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. 

He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and being with his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife of 41 years, Evelyn R. Silveira of Hilmar; sons, Mark Silveira and his wife, Patricia, of Hilmar and Tim Silveira of Hilmar; sisters, Mary Lou Laranjo and her husband, Joe, of Corcoran and Linda Andrade and her husband, Manuel, of Hilmar; and grandchildren, Mark Jr., Cassandra and Matthew Silveira, all of Hilmar. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Rosa Silveira; and godson, Gilbert Silveira.

Services have been held.  Burial will be at North Hilmar Cemetery.
