Jack Bennett, 92, of Turlock, passed away at Covenant Village Care Center in Turlock. He lived in the Bay Area, Walnut Creek, and San Andreas before settling in Modesto in 1960 In 1941, he married Dorothy M. Wigell, and during WWII Jack served as an U.S. Army Tech Sergeant. . They moved to Covenant Village of Turlock in 1998. Jack was a salesman for most of his working years and attended Covenant churches of San Andreas, Modesto, and Turlock. He enjoyed dancing, golf, music, watching sports and loved spending time with family. Jack was known for his integrity and a quick wit when interacting with people. He was a member of SIRS #103.
Jack is survived by four children: Jill (Neal) Gardenhire of Black Diamond, WA, Michael (Susanne) Bennett of Oakdale, CA, Larry (Debbie) Bennett of Aliso Viejo, CA, and Mark (Susan) Bennett of Modesto, CA, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Dorothy, his beloved wife of 62 years, preceded him in death in 2004.
A memorial service will be held at Berg Hall of Covenant Village of Turlock, Saturday, April 28, 2012, at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be sent to Covenant Village Benevolent Fund, 2125 N. Olive Ave., Turlock, CA 95382.
