John Jurevich, 54, of Turlock, died tragically in San Leandro. He was born in San Jose to Ivan and Jeannette Jurevich. He attended schools in Patterson and graduated from Patterson High School. Afterward, John attended Modesto Junior College. After completing his studies, he met and married his sweetheart and life partner, Toni Azevedo. They moved to Turlock in 1991. John and Toni were married for 26 years before his tragic death.

 John drove city bus in Modesto for 12 years. For the last 14 years he was a truck driver for Mello Turf Company. In his personal time, John enjoyed drag racing and restoring old cars. He had nearly completed the restoration of his Classic Barracuda. Also a big fan of NASCAR racing, John worked on the pit crew for Harry Holton Racing since 1976.

 John was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Jeannette Jurevich.

 He is survived by his wife, Toni Jurevich of Turlock; father, Ivan (Eve Kelley) Jurevich of Patterson; siblings,  Jeanine May of Modesto, Elise (Jim) Jurevich-D’Anna of Modesto, Tom (Robin) Jurevich of Turlock and Cathy Jurevich of Modesto; and nieces and nephews, David Jordan, Lani Azevedo, Jennifer (Steve) Grist and their son, Aiden, Brandon Jurevich and Ashlee Jurevich.

There will be a visitation for John from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 at Allen Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 25 at Allen Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered for B.R.A.K.E.S., a nationwide safe driving school for teens, 1443 E. Gaston St., Lincolnton, NC 28092.
