June Ann Wurm, 62, of Denair, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 27 after an 18-year struggle with cancer. She stepped through the door of eternity at her home, while she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 9, 1947, to Elmer and Hazel Nyquist of Turlock. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1965. She graduated in 1967 with an AA degree in Home Economics from Modesto Junior College, where she met her husband, Bob Wurm. Bob and June were married on June’s 20th birthday and were happily married for 42 years.
June was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Nyquist.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Wurm of Denair; children, Susan and Neil Marshall of Turlock, Jennifer and Marc Wray of Peru, Ind., Dennis and Jenifer Wurm of Peru, Ind. and Jesse Wurm of Denair; mother, Hazel Nyquist of Turlock; brother and his wife, Bob and Debbie Nyquist of Denair; and sister, Carol Teague of Alpine, Texas. June also leaves nine grandchildren, Kayla (Wray) Beachy, Jessica, Theresa, Darla, Andrew and Amanda Wray and Brennan, Blake and Jaeden Wurm.
On Oct. 22, 1974, June and Bob accepted our Lord as their Savior and were baptized. They are members of the Old German Baptist Brethren Church.
June will be remembered for her love of our Lord, her dedication to her family, and her love of gardening.
The family is extremely thankful for the care given them by the church, the community, and the wonderful hospice workers of Emanuel Hospital.
