Larry Arvice Biscamp, 63, of Berkeley passed away April 2010. He was born in San Augustine, Texas in April 1946.
At three years old he was paralyzed in a car accident, Larry did not let this slow him down. He found many ways to live life to the fullest. He was a family man, an outdoorsman, a counselor and a friend to all. He was also a proponent of rights for the disabled. He was a co-founder of California Center for Independent Living. This group helped leading the way for accessibility for the disabled thought our nation.
Larry is survived by his loving mother, Lorraine Lindsay; sons, Robert (Aimee) and Brenden; grandson, Louis; brother, Frank; sisters, Doris and Lois; nieces, Donna and Nicole; and his great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dillard Biscamp; and his stepfather, Richard Lindsay.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on April 15 at Tilden Park, Berkeley, Calif. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Fresno.
