Larry Eugene Yeakel, age 84, passed away in Turlock, California on April 14, 2022. Larry was born in Wichita, Kansas to Emmett and Mildred Yeakel on November 1, 1937. His family moved to California where he was raised in Marysville and Turlock. Larry graduated from Turlock High School in 1955. After high school, he attended Los Angeles Pacific College and Cal Poly SLO. He was a resident of Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Del Mar, Vashon Island, and Turlock. On November 16, 1957, Larry married the love of his life, Danice Mahoney Yeakel, in Los Angeles, California. 

Larry worked as an architect for various firms in California before owning his own office in San Diego, Del Mar, Vashon Island, and continued practicing in Turlock. Larry loved aviation and was a private pilot for over 50 years. He had a love for photography and traveling in his motorhome. He was a member of Crossroads Church in Turlock and American Legion.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Yeakel and Mildred Ridens.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Danice Yeakel; his sisters, Carol Goldsmith, Peggy (Ed) Press, Betty Crane, and Kathryn (Ivo) Gardella; his nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service is being held on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, CA. 

The family asks that donations be made in Larry’s honor to Crossroads Church in Turlock or Seva Hospice in Salida.
