Leonard R. “Chuck Roberts, 91, of Ballico passed away at his home on Thursday, May 7, 2015. He was born in Ada Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, primarily in Europe, where he rwas awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. After serving in the Army he came to California and settled in Ballico. He was employed by Bonander Pontiac-Buick in Turlock for 22 years as a sales manager. After retiring from car sales he became an almond farmer in Ballico for the next 34 years. Chuck was a 55 year member of the American Legion Post in Ballico, a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a past member of the Livingston Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Roberts, daughter, Patricia E. Olson (Lamont), sons, Michael L. Roberts(Laura), Kurt A. Roberts(Patricia), 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine, a daughter, Cassandra and brothers, E.O. “Beau” Roberts and Dale Roberts. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, at 2:00 PM at Turlock Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials in his name be made to Covenant Care Hospice or Quilts of Honor.
