It is with great sadness that family and friends report the passing of Lora Lee Crawford on May 8, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

Lora was born on April 21, 1941 in Modesto to a California pioneer family.  She was raised in Hughson,  CA,  graduating from Hughson High School in 1959.

She married and had two sons.  Her professional career was in nursing,  in which she started as an LVN,  then became a BSRN.  Most of her career was at Emanuel Medical Center.  She started as a hospital supervisor,  then manager and director of the nursing department.  Lora ended her career as the administrator of the EMC LVN program in Turlock.

Lora’s passion in life was her love of Llamas.  As a llama owner she was involved in the llama association locally,  statewide and nationally.  She was a llama breeder,  showmanship champion and hosted llama events at her ranch in Turlock.  She was president of the llama association, an educator, promoter,  judge and ambassador for llamas.

Lora is survived by her sons David and Scott of Turlock.  Also her two brothers Stan of Watsonville and Don of Turlock.

Lora was an accomplished,  loved and respected woman in her communities.  As a friend to many,  she will be remembered for her sense of humor and steadfast loyalty.
