Loretta Moreno, 52, of Merced, passed away at Merced Medical Center in Merced. Loretta was born in Merced to Louie and Mary Ruiz. She lived in Merced throughout her life, attending area schools, and raising her own family there. Loretta made many friends throughout her life, as one does when you remain in your hometown. She had a big heart, and her door was open to everyone — it was her nature to put others before herself. Loretta had a vibrant presence and infectious laughter that would fill a room, and she was always the life of the party. She touched many people in the short 52 years of her life, and she leaves behind her family and many friends that will miss her greatly.
Loretta is survived by her children, Juanita Evette Ruiz, Rosa Moreno, Veronica Moreno, Monica Ruiz, Sally Campos, Henry Campos Jr. and Frankie Ruiz, all of Merced; parents, Louie Ruiz and Mary Ruiz, both of Merced; siblings, Mary Carrillo, Louie Ruiz Jr., Robert Ruiz and Cindy Ruiz Maldonado; and 21 grandchildren.
Viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 23 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 24 at Allen Mortuary.
A memorial fund to help Loretta’s family with her funeral expenses has been established at Travis Credit Union.
