Lou B. Schoonover, 97, of Turlock, was born on July 18, 1912 to Ernest and Chlora Clem in Amarillo, Texas. She lived in Kansas during her early years and attended Pratt Schools. She graduated from Pratt High School and married Orville Schoonover. She and her husband had a daughter and a son. Lou was widowed in May of 1993, just eight days before their 62nd wedding anniversary. Lou was a member of Denair Friends Church, an associate member of Friends Bible College (Barclay) in Haviland, Kansas, and a charter member of Mission Aviation Fellowship Foundation for many years.
Lou is survived by her daughter, Frances Winfrey Swezey of Santee; son, Cecil Schoonover of Heston, Kansas; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Schoonover; parents, Ernest and Chlora Clem; brothers, Leo Arthur Clem and Paul Oliver Clem; and sister, Mary Ellen Cone.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 2 at Allen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 3 at Lakewood Memorial Park.
