Lucille Marietta passed away Monday after a short illness.
She was born in North Fork, Neb. in March 1911 to Charles and Sigrid Olds. The family moved to Turlock in 1927.
She had many hobbies; her greatest joy was bowling and she carried a 128 average at the young age of 93. She also enjoyed roller skating in six inch heels when she was younger. Her favorite character was Betty Boop.
She worked hard all her life; in the ship yard as a welder during WWII with long (real long) finger nails to driving a taxi in Turlock to supports her five kids.
She was married three times in her life. But the greatest love and her soul mate was a man by the name Joseph “Peter” Marietta. They were as one until the day he died.
Lucille is survived by daughter, LaVoughn Eldridge; sons, LaRue and George Kinerson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother; brothers, Bengerman and George Olds; sisters, Effie Messerlie, Esther Davis, Gracie Reuss, Wildia Carlberg and Sigrid Bradley; and sons, Ralph and Lawrence ”Larry” Kinerson.
Services are entrusted to Allen Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 1. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. A reception will be held following the service.
