Luke Joseph Molthen, 50, passed away in Modesto Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Luke was born July 14, 1967 in Modesto to parents John and Ruth Molthen. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sallie Molthen; mother Ruth; children: Elizabeth (Erik) Laws of Salida, Amanda Stone of Maryland, Faith Molthen of Modesto, and Katie Molthen of Modesto; siblings: Belinda (Lawrence) Thompson of Modesto, Stephanie (Paul) Pizzirulli of Modesto, Eric (Diane) Molthen of Colorado, John Molthen of Modesto, Brian Molthen of Idaho, and Vince (Patty) Molthen of Modesto. He is further remembered through his three grandchildren: Landon Stone, Deegan Laws, and Taylor Laws all of Salida.

Luke enjoyed a career as a senior technical sales manager of Shepard Bros. for the past 17 years. In his spare time you could see him hunting, golfing and camping with family. No matter when Luke came into your life there is no doubt he made some sort of long-lasting impact.  He was the most loving, thoughtful, and hardworking man you could have ever met.  He was a devoted Catholic and never thought twice about putting someone else’s needs first, he truly cared about the well-being of others and making sure they were taken care of.  Nothing made him happier than being a part of his children and grandchildren’s lives.  He never missed an opportunity to help or coach when it came to sports; such as his most recent assistant coaching position for his daughter’s varsity soccer team at Gregori High School.  Most of all he enjoyed the special trips he took with his wife, where they could indulge in all of their favorite activities.

A visitation will take place at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home McHenry Chapel 1050 McHenry Avenue Modesto, CA on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with a rosary beginning at 7:00pm. The following day at 10:00am, Thursday, February 1, 2018 a mass is scheduled at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church 709 J Street Modesto, CA.
